The Consumers' Association of Finland is an independent promoter of the interests and rights of consumers


The objects for which The Consumers' Association of Finland is established are
  • to encourage consumers to work actively for their interests and to promote this kind of co-operation
  • to promote and advance consumer interests in society and on the market by means of informal action
  • to further the principles of fairness and sustainable consumption
  • to promote consumer awareness
  • to work for environmental protection

Functions of The Consumers' Association of Finland

  • protection of consumers interests
  • local and regional consumer activities
  • consumer education
  • production and dissemination of information
  • national and international cooperation.

Members of The Consumers' Association of Finland

  • 64 local and regional consumer associations (which are members of The Consumers' Association of Finland and can have only individual members)
  • 11 national federations, unions and associations representing various interests that are related to consumer issues

International Co-operation


The Consumers' Association of Finland is represented in the following international organisations/bodies:
  • Bureau Européen des Unions de Consommateurs (BEUC)
  • Consumers International (CI)
  • The Nordic Advisory Council on Consumer Affairs
  • European Consumer Consultative Group (ECCG)
  • Association de Normalisation Europeenne pour les Consommateurs (ANEC)

The Consumers' Association of Finland co-operates with

  • the Estonian Consumer Union (Eesti Tarbijakaitse Liit)
  • national bodies dealing with international/European consumer issues
